Speech and Language Therapy
Stepping Stones has a full time Speech and Language Therapist providing a specialised service delivered across both the lower school and upper school.
Skills for talking in everyday situations, language for learning, social skills, friendship skills and independence skills are all key parts of a student’s therapy programme.
Pupils throughout the school may receive individual, paired or group therapy according to their needs.
The Speech and Language Therapist works collaboratively with teaching staff in order to support the generalisation of language skills into the classroom and also to support pupils to access the curriculum.
The Speech and Language Therapist is an integral part of the school, delivering structured social activities and play opportunities at lunchtimes and enrichment sessions.
